Vienna Community Center relocates during renovation

Expansion and renovation of the Vienna Community Center is scheduled to begin this month.

The center, at 120 Cherry St., closed Tuesday. On Saturday, the center's office operations will resume at the Cedar Park Shopping Center, 262-M Cedar Lane SE, Vienna. Office hours will be weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Community Center will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Classes and programs will be held at Vienna Baptist Church, Vienna Presbyterian Church, Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Patrick Henry Library, the town hall and the Bowman House. The Community Center will be closed Saturdays and Sundays.

The Club Phoenix Teen Center will open at the Cedar Park Shopping Center on Saturday. The center will be open Monday to Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. and from 2:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday.

Economic Development Authority grants available

The Falls Church Economic Development Authority is seeking 2015-2016 grant applicants for programs or activities that bring new visitors and consumer activity to the city; enhance the city’s tax base or business climate; or raise the city’s profile in the region .

Applications are due Sept. 18. The maximum awardamount is $2,000 per recipient.

STEM career fair scheduled at NOVA’s Annandale campus

A career fair for science, technology, engineering and math-related fields will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Ernst Cultural Center, Northern Virginia Community College, 8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale.

Sponsored by NOVA’s Workforce Development Division, the second annual fair will feature companies in the areas of communications, cybersecurity, energy, finance, health care, media, government and technology.

A Résumé and Interview Prep workshop is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Ernst Cultural Center. The workshop is free.
