
Anthony William Packer whose birth name was Anthony William Paczkowski was an American sportscaster and a published author. He was born on February 25, 1940, in Wellsville, New York, United States.
Packer spent more than three decades as a color analyst for television coverage of college basketball. He attended Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and continued to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he graduated in 1962.
While in college, he played guard on the school’s basketball team for his last three years, where he averaged 14.8 points per game, leading Wake to two Atlantic Coast Conference titles and the 1962 Final Four. He was a member of the Delta Nu chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity.
